Patrick Morand
President
Patrick is the President of Open Prairie and brings more than 35 years of experience in investment and company management, specializing in complex, regulated industries. His expertise includes turnaround management, investor relations, and developing accountability standards that drive high performance and growth.
Before joining Open Prairie, Patrick served as Managing Director of the Southwest Michigan First Life Science Fund and held Chief Executive Officer roles at three different companies within the biologics sector. His prior leadership positions include Vice President of Commercial Operations for Genesis Therapeutics, Executive Vice President of Sequitor Medical Technologies, and Executive in Residence at the Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse, where he supported more than 65 companies representing over $100 million in investment.
With deep experience across the life sciences industry, Patrick brings a unique perspective to Open Prairie’s investment strategy. He leverages his understanding of innovation, commercialization, and operational excellence to help guide the firm’s portfolio companies—recognizing the strong parallels between life sciences and modern agriculture.
Education
Patrick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the Athenaeum of Ohio.
